Stericycle Environmental Solutions Provides Drug Take Back Solution to La Paz County

By: Stericycle

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (April 3, 2019) – Stericycle Environmental Solutions, a leading provider of environmental and regulated waste management solutions, has partnered with La Paz County to provide drug take back envelopes for the Arizona county’s upcoming Community Health Expo on Saturday, April 6. The Health Expo is sponsored by Healthy La Paz, a coalition dedicated to promoting health and social services throughout the county.

Stericycle’s Seal&Send Medication MailBack Envelopes enable consumers to safely and easily dispose of their unused or expired medications by filling the pre-addressed envelope with up to 8 oz. of pharmaceutical waste and placing it into any USPS mailbox.

“We’re pleased to provide an outlet for La Paz County residents to dispose of their excess medications in a safe and environmentally-friendly way with our Seal&Send drug mail back envelopes,” said Maricha Ellis, vice president of marketing and sales operations for Stericycle Environmental Solutions. “Our solution not only prevents excess medications from ending up in landfills and drinking water, but keeps leftover drugs out of the wrong hands – an important component of a comprehensive opioid crisis response strategy.”

The partnership is one of many steps in Arizona’s statewide fight to save lives and combat the opioid epidemic. Approximately two Arizonans die every day from opioid overdoses, and more than 325,000 opioid prescriptions were dispensed in the state last month alone.

“We’re excited to provide this Stericycle drug take back solution to our community,” said Jenna McDaniel, public information officer for the La Paz County Health Department. “The envelopes, as well as other features of our Health Expo, will give our residents the tools they need to make an impact on their personal wellness, as well as the health of the environment and those around them.”

Residents can pick up envelopes at the Community Health Expo this Saturday, April 6. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Western Park, located at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Desert Avenue in Parker, Arizona.

Stericycle is committed to providing safe, reliable and anonymous outlets nationwide for individuals to dispose of their unused or expired drugs. Learn more about Stericycle’s drug take back program here. Learn more about the La Paz County Community Health Expo here.
