Stericycle Environmental Solutions’ Meg Moynihan Named to 2019 Environment + Energy 100 List
Annual program hosted by Environmental Leader and Energy Manager Today recognizes over-achievers in the energy, environmental and sustainability industry
INDIANAPOLIS (May 15, 2019) – Stericycle Environmental Solutions, a leading provider of environmental and regulated waste management solutions, announces today that Meg Moynihan, Director of Strategic Marketing, has been named to the Environment + Energy Leader 100 (E+E 100) list.
E + E 100 is an annual program developed and run by Environmental Leader and Energy Manager Today to recognize leaders, innovators, shaker-uppers and doers in the environmental and energy management space.
Moynihan has played a pivotal role in growing Stericycle’s consumer drug take back solutions, consisting of Seal&Send Medication MailBack Envelopes and Medication Collection Kiosks. The envelopes provide a safe, convenient option for consumers to dispose of their unused or expired drugs by filling a pre-addressed envelope with up to eight ounces of pharmaceutical waste and dropping it into any USPS mailbox. Similarly, kiosks offer a reliable, anonymous outlet for consumers to dispose of unwanted drugs in a safe place within their communities.
“I am tremendously honored to be selected for this year’s E+E 100,” Moynihan said. “I share this award with all of my colleagues at Stericycle Environmental Solutions who have worked with me on our consumer drug take back solution, and I am eager to build on the impact we’ve made in communities nationwide with this program. Above all, I hope this achievement sheds light on the steps everyone can take to combat the opioid epidemic.”
Moynihan’s dedication to the success of Stericycle’s take back program has resulted in record collection volumes in recent months. Her strategic guidance has led to several tons of pharmaceutical waste being diverted from landfills, our water supply, as well as from the hands of a child or a potential abuser.
“We congratulate Meg and the entire Stericycle Environmental Solutions take back team on their incredible accomplishments,” said Maricha Ellis, Vice President of Marketing and Sales Operations of Stericycle Environmental Solutions. “Stericycle’s simple and award-winning approach to combatting the nation’s opioid crisis – comprised of Seal&Send Medication MailBack Envelopes and Medication Collection Kiosks – has multifaceted benefits, including diverting a waste stream and reducing pollutants in waterways.”
E + E 100 honorees are nominated by peers and selected based on their impact on the industry or the company in which they work. They will be celebrated at the fourth annual
Environmental Leader & Energy Manager Conference (ELEMCON), May 13-15, 2019, at the Marriott Denver Tech Center.
Stericycle is committed to providing safe, reliable and anonymous outlets nationwide for individuals to dispose of their unused or expired drugs. Learn more about Stericycle’s drug take back program here.
